Welcome!
Thanks for attending my session on Wii-based classroom technology at this year's TATN. I hope you are able to go away from this inspired to tackle Wiimote projects in your own classroom.
After lots(!) of research and trial and error for this project, I've hit upon a number of solutions and resources that I feel were the most helpful for me. I'm providing those links below. Please know that the knowledge base on the web about this type of project is rapidly growing; I encourage you to dive in!
My Lesson Plan :: Data Colleection Rubric :: Collaboration Rubric :: My Other Workshop Resources

| Bluetooth | Whiteboard | Head Tracking | Resources |
| BlueSoleil :: About $25 but provided my easiest connection experience Broadcom :: Free and also came with my external Bluetooth adapter, but gave me some trouble. | Smoothboard :: Very full featured and easy to use. Has robust support for it being an open source project that is barely a year old. | FreeTrack:: Very cool, easy to implement (also free) mouse emulation software for head tracking. Mostly used for flight sim games. GlovePIE :: Script based mouse emulation software for controlers other than mice. There is a scrpit for just about anything within this software environment. It gets technical fast, but there are lots of developers working in the forums. | Wiimote Project :: By far the most helpful all-in-one place for all things Wiimote. Focused largely on the whiteboard side of things, there is also down-to-earth information on just about anything else to do with getting started on a Wiimote-based project
YouTube :: TeacherTube :: SchoolTube :: If you don't understand somethng you've read about in a forum, there is probably a YouTube video out there that demostrates the concept. |
